About Vao's Art Shop
Welcome to Vao's Art Shop – your destination for unique accessories, handcrafted items, and most of all, original art!
We are a proud Hispanic-owned small business founded in 2020, during the height of the pandemic. At the time, I had been laid off and wanted to contribute from home. So, I started selling my artwork and creating one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry and bracelets. But it wasn’t until a friend invited me to a fundraising event that the spark for something bigger ignited. That event inspired me to officially pursue and grow Vao's Art Shop into what it is today.
While we’ve come a long way, we know there’s still much room to grow, and we’re excited about the future and the possibilities ahead!
Hi, I’m Victoria Olvera (Vao), the founder of Vao's Art Shop. In addition to running the business, I’m a middle school art teacher, a volunteer, and a part-time recreation center worker. I wear many hats, and at times, it can be overwhelming—but I couldn’t do any of it without the unwavering support of my mom and family, especially my mom, who has always been there to lend a hand.
As a Hispanic woman and artist, I find constant inspiration from my life experiences, and Vao’s Art Shop has become a way for me to express myself and share my passion with the world. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing people enjoy and connect with my work, especially at vendor events. However, as my role as an art teacher has grown, we’ve shifted to hosting seasonal events and focusing more on online orders for the time being.
At Vao's Art Shop, we invite you to Step into the Art and be part of our creative journey.
